Rahmakhan Todd Turnbow also known as King Sun was born in Patterson, New Jersey. He made his debut in 1987 with producer D-Moët on the single,”Hey Love” on ZaKia Records. He then was signed to Profile Records in 1989 and released his debut album,”XL” which spawned the hit,”On the Club Tip”. The following year he dropped his classic sophomore album,”Righteous But Ruthless“ and released the hits,”Be Black“ & “Big Shots”.
In 1992 King Sun released the single,”Sippin’ Brandy” on Money Bag Records before releasing the EP “Strictly Ghetto” on Cold Chillin’ Records in 1994. In 1999, he returned with his 3rd studio album,”Say No More” and a EP,”Heat 4 Da Streets” in 2002.
King Sun currently resides in Virginia where he is prepping his long awaited album and return. Be on the lookout for his guest feature on DJ Kay Slay’s upcoming release,”Rollin’ 200 Deep”.
